Integrated Design Group, a leader in the design and engineering of data centers, consulted with NDA for the design of a three story, 130,000 square foot data center in Needham, Massachusetts.   NDA’s responsibilities included the design and engineering of the building envelope and coordination of complex MEP systems with Integrated Design’s engineering group.  Due to the limited size of the site, a multi-story layout was designed creating many challenges.  Mechanical equipment, which is typically located on grade, was placed on the roof.  Extensive communication and coordination with the engineering group was essential to locate and design riser space for primary/emergency power systems, HVAC distribution, fiber entries and other vertical services.
